A cooler that has failed is not necessarily a cooler that needs replacing. Renovating the existing unit is very often the faster and more economical route, and it is the core of what our workshops do.
Recoring and retubing
Aluminium oil coolers can be repaired or recored using welding techniques we developed specifically for the purpose. Shell and tube heat exchangers can be retubed. In both cases the unit is rebuilt to original equipment specifications and high pressure tested before it goes back out the door.
MESABI rebuilds
Abbotts Industrial Cooling is a specialist in the rebuilding of MESABI radiators and MESABI oil coolers. L&M Radiators in Perth are the designers and manufacturers of the original MESABI flexible core radiators, charge air coolers and oil coolers used extensively across the mining industry.
In all of our rebuilds we use only genuine MESABI replacement radiator tubes, seals and consumable parts, so that your cooling equipment performs exactly as it did when it was originally manufactured. Our fitters are fully trained, with several years of MESABI experience, and perform all rebuilds in accordance with the original equipment specifications and standards.
Retro-fit replacements
We can also build retro-fit MESABI replacement radiators to replace original Caterpillar folded core and AMOC radiators, and Komatsu aluminium section radiators. Where corrosion or extreme operating environments are causing premature failure and repeated maintenance cost, this is a very cost effective solution.
